Fashion Cleaning Service
Hilker’s Cleaners is well-known and takes great pride in what is typically known as ‘dry cleaning’. We actually consider our services as Fashion Cleaning, since it involves both dry and wet cleaning processes. Wet cleaning is not the same as home washing. Wet cleaning is more labor intensive than dry cleaning, but also can more effective than normal dry cleaning for the removal of water-based stains, such as perspiration and grass stains. Dry cleaning is more effective for the removal of oil-based stains, such as make-up, salad dressing and sauces.
Professional laundering for shirts and other garments is another service of distinction offered at Hilker’s Fabric and Couture Care. Special pre-cleaning processes utilizing steam, solvents, detergents, additives, and finishes set commercial laundry apart from home laundering. Our process offers superior cleaning and deodorizing which ensures that your fabrics have the optimum cleaning and finishing possible. Clothing becomes cleaner and our professional pressing offers a crisper finish.
Professional Dry Cleaning refers to the use of solvents to remove soil and stains from fabric. It is called "dry cleaning" because the solvents contain little or no water and do not always penetrate the fibers as water does. Dry cleaning solvent is not harmful to fabric and is a consistently reliable way to successfully clean your garments. We now offer the truest form of GreenEarth Cleaning® to reduce harmful effects toward our environment, and to provide an allergy-free alternative that is healthy for the fibers of your garments.
At Hilker’s Fabric and Couture Care the dry cleaning process begins with the delicate pretreatment of spots and stains using special cleaning agents. The garments are then placed into a machine which produces a predetermined level of a mechanical-type action to loosen embedded dirt, stains and odor. There are over 30 mechanical settings with an ability to create any desired “processing level”, to safely clean your garment. Throughout the cleaning process, the solvent is filtered and distilled to ensure its clarity. The garments are dried in the same machine and finally the garments and textiles are completed by steaming, pressing or ironing for a beautiful finish.
